Irene Suvillaga is currently enrolled at Trent University pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in International Development and Political Studies. Born and raised in El Salvador, she has developed a deep passion for humanitarian work and social change. With an intricate love for the community, art, advocacy and research, Irene has extensive experience in journalism and social work, obtained through working and volunteering with different news organizations and non-profit organizations in Canada and El Salvador. She continues to develop professionally in the non-profit sector through Orchestras Canada as their Philanthropy Associate – A position generously funded through the Government of Ontario’s Summer Experience Program. In her free time, Irene enjoys yoga, painting and reading.
