In less than 20 years, Joshua Lucas has blazed his own trail of a career in the music and entertainment scene in Toronto. Known in the community as “the Future”, Lucas has taken a role as a cultural preserver of authentic Jamaican music and culture through deejaying, live music, event promotion and music production. He has shared stages with many international acts including Shabba Ranks, Koffee, Yellowman, and Marcia Griffiths to name a few. Lucas’ career has not been limited to just the Reggae community as he has spread his skills to corporate events for companies such Bell Canada, Revera Living and CIBC, weddings and private events, and several school events for a variety of school boards. Today, Joshua continues to preserve and promote his culture through his DJ performances, acting as the bassist and musical director for JUNO-winning artist Kirk Diamond, and the organizer of his own signature events. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Joshua has expanded his endeavors to live streaming through the Twitch platform, and soundclash culture through the newly organized National Soundclash League.
