Originally from London (Ontario), Steve graduated from University of Toronto (MusBac’67), and immediately began a career as a high school music teacher. Concurrently (1971-77), he took on several middle-management challenges for the National Youth Orchestra. He moved to full-time orchestra management in Kingston (1978-85), Victoria (1985-2000) and in Malaysia (2000-04). Since 2005 he has functioned variously in the performing arts in both consulting and direct, hands-on projects. Steve filled in his first Orchestras Canada Comparative Report questionnaire back in 1979. Since 2005 he has been responsible for production of OC’s annual Comparative Reports.
