Marie-Claire Lavigueur
Executive Director, Fondation du Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec
Marie-Claire Lavigueur served as the Chief Executive Officer of Arion Orchestre Baroque from fall 2020 to summer 2024. In this role, she determines the orchestra’s strategic directions and contributes to its artistic development. As the administrative head, she oversees budgetary and financial matters, manages both public and private funding for the ensemble, fosters local and international influence through artistic and strategic partnerships, and handles human resources concerns for all its employees and contract workers.
In October 2024, Marie-Claire was named directrice générale de la Fondation du Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec.
Ms. Lavigueur holds an MBA from HEC Montréal, a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University (majoring in cello), and a master’s in music from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium (awarded with distinction). She was also chosen to participate for a one-year masterclasses with cellist Lluis Claret in Barcelona, Spain.
Prior to taking on her current leadership position, she worked as an artist manager at Les Concerts Parisiens agency in Paris, France. There, she represented several prominent names and classical music ensembles, guiding their strategic career development and promoting their artistic presence across Europe as well as internationally. She also contributed to production and logistics for the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier in Paris and Montpellier, France.
