Orchestras Canada has just opened nominations for the 2026 Betty Webster Award<\/strong>, our way of recognizing outstanding contributions to the Canadian orchestral community.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Supporting and sustaining an orchestra in Canada in the 21st century is a collective, collaborative effort, involving both high-profile artistic leaders and<\/i> a significant number of people working tirelessly on stage and behind the scenes to create the conditions in which Canadian orchestras can flourish.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Award specifically honours an individual who has made an under-recognized but sustained and significant contribution to the community of Canadian orchestras through their work, be it paid or volunteer.<\/span><\/p>\n

To recognize meaningful leadership, service, and lasting impact within Canada\u2019s orchestral community,\u00a0the 2026 theme\u00a0for the Orchestras Canada Betty Webster Award is\u00a0<\/span>Celebrating Canadian Creativity.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We know that the Canadian orchestral sector is richer because of the many people whose care, imagination, and commitment help Canadian music thrive, and this year, we want to honour\u00a0those who support and champion creative projects by orchestras in ways both visible and behind the scenes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Orchestras Canada now invites nominations for the 2026 Betty Webster Award.\u00a0We\u2019d\u00a0like to hear about\u00a0individuals who\u00a0have\u00a0collaborated\u00a0with and\u00a0celebrated\u00a0Canadian composers, artists, and communities through one of, or a combination of, the following ways:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
