Our goal is to achieve economic and creative gender balance by providing professional development, support, and resources for our community, as well as opportunities to network, learn and promote our talent with global chapters around the world. THE POSITION Women in Music Canada is currently searching for hands-on, talented, passionate candidate to fill the full-time position of Director of Operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations will deliver on the organization\u2019s strategic and business goals through the management and delivery of projects and initiatives as determined by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n This is an exciting opportunity to join Women in Music if you\u2019re an energized, entrepreneurial-minded individual, confident in the company of high-level donors and prospects, and able to communicate with impact about the mission of the organization.<\/p>\n RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n Grants, Funding & Sponsorship<\/strong> Operations & Leadership<\/strong> CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Progressive management experience in an organization, ideally with a minimum 5 years\u2019 experience in operational roles in the music industry or relevant not-for-profit sector. \nWomen in Music Canada is a registered non-profit organization based in Toronto, and an affiliate of the Women in Music global organization headquartered in New York with chapters throughout the world. Since its inception in 2014, Women in Music Canada has grown to be one of the largest music industry organizations in Canada by membership.<\/p>\n
\n\u25aa Manage the strategic approach, research, and execution of compelling proposals for funding support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
\n\u25aa Identify, draft, submit and manage funding requests to all levels of government and government agencies, primarily provincial and federal.
\n\u25aa Ensure the organization and projects comply with the terms of government funding and that all reporting is submitted according to requirements and deadlines.
\n\u25aa Keep up-to date on public policy regarding arts and culture and monitor important government relations activities such as policy changes, funding announcements and elections.
\n\u25aa Track giving opportunities to expand the donor base beyond current supporters.
\n\u25aa Solicit and secure sponsorships and donations.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Assist with the development and execution of all activities related to the strategic plan.
\n\u2022 Represent Women in Music\u2019s at industry events, both online and in-person gatherings.
\n\u2022 Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, services, and initiatives. Provide regular reporting to the Executive Director.
\n\u2022 Work with the Executive Director to prepare a comprehensive budget and secure adequate funding for Women in Music\u2019s business operations.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 A passion for music and the importance of gender equity, along with working knowledge of the music industry.
\n\u2022 A proven track record of fundraising, sponsorship, or other relevant revenue-generating experience.
\n\u2022 Outstanding reputation for building and growing relationships and partnerships.
\n\u2022 Astute business acumen, with an eye to organizational detail and oversight.
\n\u2022 Sound financial and accounting oversight, ability to plan for the long-term.
\n\u2022 Outstanding communications skills, verbal and written.
\n\u2022 At ease with today\u2019s technology, digital and social media environment.
\n\u2022 Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office group of programs.
\n\u2022 Undergraduate\/graduate degree or equivalent.<\/p>\n
