Patrick Towell is the Innovation Director of The Audience Agency (TAA), the UK’s leading organisation for sector intelligence and audience insight for the arts, culture and heritage sectors. He is founder and Executive Director of Golant Media Ventures, working across the creative, public, third and digital sectors and, since 2018, TAA’s enterprise arm. He co-led the UK’s largest ever study on organisational resilience in the cultural sector for Arts Council England as part of their future strategy to 2030 and is co-leading a similar study to inform future support to resilience and enterprise for The National Lottery Heritage Fund (formerly HLF). He is an Arts Council Wales resilience advisor, Arts Council England financial advisor and the National Lottery Heritage Fund digital advisor. He has been helping explore alternative models for delivering music education in England and Wales. He enjoys speaking and facilitating debate around a number of topics including enterprise and resilience for funders, policymakers and sector leaders. His dad was a jazz musician – and Patrick plays the accordion, owns a violin and is really enjoying piano lessons at moment, but needs help restringing his berimbau.
