Director, Granting Program Operations, Canada Council for the Arts
Alexis Andrew is a cultural policy researcher, with a background in the performing arts. She has been at the Canada Council for the Arts since 2006, in a variety of policy, communications, and research roles and, most recently, as Director, Research, Evaluation and Performance Measurement. In that role, she oversaw the development of outcomes-based performance measures for the New Funding Model, commissioned research into a wide array of arts issues, and lead the creation of a Qualitative Impact Framework for understanding the intrinsic value of the arts. She has recently been named Director, Granting Program Operations. Prior to joining the Council, she worked at the Canadian Conference of the Arts, the National Judicial Institute and for a political party after pursuing a career as a dance artist in Canada and Europe. She studied at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and the Arnhem University for the Arts (Netherlands) and has a Master’s in Public Administration.
