Aimé Dontigny

Director, Engage and Sustain Program, Canada Council for the Arts

An audio artist since 1995, Aimé Dontigny was co-artistic director of No Type, the first fully curated Canadian netlabel in experimental music, and one of the founders of the Canadian New Music Network, an organization that connects musicians and presenters across the country to advocate for creative music practices. He also worked for the electroacoustic music label empreintes DIGITALes, as well as Ambiances Magnétiques, a label specialized in musique actuelle. Aimé joined the Canada Council for the Arts as a Program Officer in the Music Section in 2007 and was subsequently appointed Head of the Music Section in 2012. Under the recent reorganization at Council, he has been appointed Director of the Engage and Sustain program, which supports “arts organizations dedicated to advancing the arts through programming, and exposing a diverse public to a range of artists and creative works.”
